I'm walking down the road at night, beneath the lamp, in the rain.
My rain has started falling, my precious, nightly rain.
No umbrella in my hand, I'll get soaked through and through.
I've got nothing else with me, just loneliness and blues.

I won't go home tonight. I'll wander in the rain.
Beneath the lamp's dim light, with stars above my head.
My soul is weeping, crying, urging me to flee.
I'd break right through the barriers, but they won't let me.
It's so cold, it hurts so much, to know that I'm alone.
There's sadness in my eyes, my heart is overthrown.
My soul is screaming, «Run away, protect your heart».

I can't go on like this.
It just can't go on anymore.
My patience is about to crack.
But my soul will be a sacred track.
